Pasture-Raised Pork

Hi, friend! Thanks for your interest in our pastured pork. Please read through for more info on how we raise our pigs, pricing, and ordering.

Here on our family farm, we raise our pigs from farrow to finish, which means that the pigs you’re purchasing are born on the farm. All piglets are born outside on pasture and live their entire lives on grass, fresh air, and sunshine.

Since pigs are omnivores, they need grains and other supplements to receive a well-balanced diet. We give our pigs locally sourced non-GMO feeds. We do not give antibiotics or vaccines.

We raise Idaho Pasture Pigs (IPPs), a breed developed from Old Berkshire, Duroc, and Kune Kune breeds. They were bred with the intention of highest quality pork that can be raised on pasture for small family farms.

Because of their ability to thrive on grass, their meat is higher in omega-3 fatty acids. Because they take a longer time to reach butcher weight (10 months vs 6 months in a commercial setting), their meat has a deep red color and more marbling compared to commercially raised pork. Based on our experience, IPP meat tastes cleaner and is just simply more flavorful.

We love chatting about our pigs! Feel free to ask us any questions or visit to see how the pigs are doing.

How does this work?

There are only three things for you to do, but we’ve included the whole timeline here in case you’d like to see the whole process.

  1. Customer pays the non-refundable $250 deposit.

  2. Pigs are raised until age/weight is reached (generally 10 months). We schedule the processing date.

  3. One month prior to processing date, the customer fills out the cut sheet provided by our processor.

  4. We take the pig(s) to the processor. Processing usually takes 1-2 weeks.

  5. Processor informs us of pickup date/time.

  6. We will discuss and arrange pickup/delivery date at our farm.

  7. We pickup processed meat from the processor.

  8. Customer picks up frozen packaged cuts at our farm and pays remaining balance including fees from addons, if any were selected.

Besides eating healthy flavorful pork, one of the best things about buying a whole hog is getting to choose the cuts you want based on your cooking style. If you need any help filling out your cut sheet, we’ll be more than happy to guide you through this process.
