Easy Raw Milk Ice Cream
There’s nothing like homemade ice cream on a hot August day. Some homemade ice cream is made with egg yolks, but my kids prefer it without, so we make a simpler version. All you need is a blender and an ice cream maker (It doesn’t have to be fancy. I got this one from fb marketplace a couple of years ago for a steal and it works perfectly.😉)
Our ice cream maker takes 45 mins to finish churning—not a bad wait for some homemade ice cream! If you’re feeling impatient, you can make ice cream while eating dinner and it’ll be ready right when your family is finishing up. If you’ve got a slow eater like me, you might even have time to stick it in the freezer for a few minutes before enjoying it.
This recipe makes a classic vanilla ice cream, but if you’re feeling fancy, feel free to add in some fresh fruit toppings, berry sauce, chocolate chips, or chocolate syrup. We also like to eat our ice cream with our homemade brownies.😋
Easy Homemade Raw Milk Ice Cream (No Eggs)
Serves 4.
2 cups raw milk
2 cups raw cream
1/2 cup sugar
2 tbsp vanilla extract
pinch of salt
*Equipment: blender and ice cream maker
Add milk, cream, sugar, vanilla, and salt in a blender. Blend on high for 30 seconds until it’s all mixed together and sugar is dissolved.
Transfer mixture into your ice cream maker bucket and follow ice cream maker instructions.
Place ice cream in your freezer for a couple of hours to harden, or eat right away if you want a soft-serve consistency.
Enjoy!
Notes
You can substitute regular whole milk for raw milk and heavy whipping cream for raw cream.
Feel free to experiment and substitute honey or maple syrup for a sweetener. Have fun with it!
